Lenscript Terms of Service
Lenscript is the front door to a family of photography tools: the main site, the guides, and the LCT app. These terms govern the main site and the LCT app and are the family's fallback terms; Mark, Zlens, MuseFrame, paida and Liuying each publish their own legal pages, and where those differ, they prevail.
1. Accepting these terms and their scope
These terms of service ("terms") are the agreement between you and Lenscript (光子方程), an independent developer team ("we", "us"). They apply to the website lenscript.cn and its guides ("the site") and to the Android app of 光轴脚本 LCT and its backend services ("the app"). By browsing the site or installing or using the app you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.
The 光轴脚本 LCT app (listed as Lenscript / 光轴脚本) and LCT accounts are governed by these terms and the privacy policy; the terms on lct.lenscript.cn cover that website only. Mark, Zlens, MuseFrame, paida and Liuying each have their own legal pages (Liuying publishes a privacy policy only, and its iOS app is licensed under Apple's standard EULA); those govern when you use those products, and for anything they do not cover these terms apply. Every product's policies and support links are on Policies and support.
You must be at least 18 to use the app.
2. The site and the guides
The guides, images and copy on the site are free to read and remain our copyright. You may share links and quote reasonably with attribution and a link; you may not copy or mirror the site, or scrape it in bulk to train models or build other sites.
The guides are general photography advice. Statements about exposure, gear, light and timing come with assumptions and are not guarantees for a particular place, weather or legal situation. For anything involving travel, copyright or privacy, use local conditions and official information as your reference.
3. Licence for the app
Provided you comply with these terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for personal and commercial photography alike. The app is a local-first tool: shooting records, spots, gear, works and plans are stored only on your device by default.
You must not: reverse-engineer, decompile or crack the app; resell, rent or sublicense it; use it for unlawful purposes; remove its proprietary notices; or interfere with the backend services or circumvent their rate limits.
4. Accounts (optional)
Every local feature of the app works without an account. An account signs up and signs in with an email address and password and is needed only for features tied to who you are (AI-assistant quotas, place submissions, the community). This version offers no automatic cloud sync. The app includes a community for browsing and publishing work, but the community feature is not available in the current version. Once it opens, what you publish and the images you select are uploaded to our server, and the community provisions in these terms apply from that point — see the community section of the privacy policy. That account is the LCT platform's own account: an LCT account is used for the LCT platform only; Mark, Zlens and MuseFrame each stand on their own. There is no single account shared across the products. Use your own email address, keep your credentials safe and take responsibility for what happens under your account.
To delete your account go to "Me → Account → Request deletion" in the app. There is a 15-day cooling-off period during which you can cancel; afterwards the server deletes your synced data and sessions, your email is irreversibly anonymised and the account cannot be recovered. See account deletion.
5. Cloud sync and the AI shooting assistant
Cloud sync: this version offers no automatic cloud sync; signing in does not upload your local content. Photo and video files are never uploaded by sign-in or sync. The community feature is not available in the current version; once it opens, the images you select are uploaded only when you publish them (see the previous section and the privacy policy). Export important data with the in-app Backup page. If sync is ever introduced we will update these terms and the privacy policy first.
The AI shooting assistant by default relays the text you type through our server to an external model provider, with your sign-in credential attached for quota control and hourly and daily limits; answers are model-generated and for reference only. If you configure your own third-party AI endpoint and key ("bring your own key"), requests go directly to that service and never through us, and its terms, fees and data handling are between you and that provider — we accept no responsibility for it.
6. Fees and payment
The core features of the site and the app are free of charge. The app may offer an optional subscription purchased through Google Play Billing. Where it is available in the version you installed, the product name, billing period and price are those shown on Google Play's product and final confirmation screens; the subscription renews automatically each period until you turn off automatic renewal in the Google Play subscription center. Uninstalling the app or deleting your Lenscript account does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Google Play handles the payment; we never receive or store your card or other payment-method details. How subscription data is processed is described in the privacy policy.
7. Your content and feedback
Everything you record in the app is yours. Suggestions, bug descriptions and screenshots you send through the in-app Feedback entry or by email may be used by us free of charge to improve the product, without revealing your identity; please do not include sensitive personal information in feedback.
The community feature is not available in the current version; this paragraph applies once it opens. What you publish in the community remains yours. To display, distribute and moderate it you grant us a non-exclusive licence limited to operating the service, which ends when you delete the content or your account. The community's conduct rules are those shown in the app.
8. Prohibited conduct
You must not use the site or the app to: break the law; infringe other people's copyright, image rights, privacy or other rights; upload or spread malicious code; attack, scan or flood the backend services; impersonate us or other users; or circumvent quotas, rate limits or security measures.
9. Intellectual property
The Lenscript software, interface, icons, copy, website content and the "Lenscript" name and marks are owned by Lenscript (光子方程) or used under licence and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Apart from the licence expressly granted in these terms, nothing transfers any intellectual property to you.
Your shooting records, photos, videos and other content remain yours. We claim no ownership over them and use them only as necessary to provide the service.
10. Disclaimer
Lenscript is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will meet your particular needs. Weather, sunrise and sunset data come from third parties or formulas and are indicative only; the AI assistant's answers may be inaccurate.
We work to fix defects and keep the service stable, but as a small independent team we cannot promise a specific service level or turnaround time.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, consequential or special loss, loss of profit or loss of data arising from your use of, or inability to use, Lenscript.
Our total liability to you for all claims, however arising, is limited to the amount you paid us for Lenscript in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or, if you have paid nothing, to CNY 100.
Nothing in this section excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
12. Termination
You may stop using the service and uninstall the app at any time; if you have an account you may delete it as described in the privacy policy.
If you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms (for example by circumventing paid features, abusing the service or uploading unlawful content) we may suspend or terminate your access, giving you reasonable notice where practical.
The sections on intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law survive termination.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the product, the law or our commercial arrangements change. The current version is always published at https://lenscript.cn/en/terms/, with the version number and effective date at the top updated accordingly.
For changes that materially affect your rights or obligations (pricing structure, content licence) we give at least 14 days' notice on this page, in the app or by email to the address you gave us. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept it. If you do not agree, stop using the service before the effective date.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and excluding conflict-of-law rules).
Disputes arising from these terms should first be raised with us so that we can try to resolve them amicably; failing that, either party may bring the matter before the competent People's Court at the place where the operator of Lenscript (光子方程) is located.
If the law of your place of residence grants you consumer rights that cannot be waived, nothing in these terms reduces those rights.
